Moorreesburg lies in the heart of the wheat and canola fields just 105km North of Cape Town on the N7 and is situated in the West Coast region of the Western Cape, South Africa. The land has been used for large-scale wheat farming for most of its history and has become known as the breadbasket of South Africa, with wine and olive production becoming more prominent. The oldest wine estate dates back to 1696.

The Wheat Industry Museum is one of only three of it’s kind in the world. Relive the history and production of wheat and take a look at wheat fossils found in a Pharoah’s Tomb in Egypt.
There are plenty of mountain-biking and hiking trails, with gorgeous views of the mountainscapes, and activities on guest farms include fishing, swimming canoeing, 4X4 trails and clay-pigeon shooting.
Sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, as well as a great variety of crops, grapes, citrus and potato can be viewed by agricultural tourist in the Swartland. The Agricultural Show is an annual festival for the whole family.
