Ashton is situated in the Western Cape Winelands of South Africa on the longest wine route in the world! Ashton is also the capital of the canning industry with two canning factories which offer group tours by arrangement. Try some rock climbing - two kilometers beyond Ashton, in CogmansKloof, are spectacular cliffs for rock climbing. There is the Old English Fort in CogmansKloof dating back to 1899 and the Anglo Boer War. The Steam Locomotive which is next to the Municipal Offices, was used on the Worcester-Mossel Bay rail section until 1983.
