Gouritsmond is a quiet seaside village situated at the mouth of the Gourits River on the Garden Route of the Western Cape. The Gourits River is the principal river in the Southern Cape. Gouritsmond is centrally situated between Cape Town and Knysna, making it an ideal base from which to visit many of the popular tourist attractions in the area.

Here keen anglers will catch leervis, white steenbras, kob, gunter, and elf. The kabeljou will sometimes swim into the estuaries to feed on the mullet. The area is perfect for powerboat fishermen and a launch ramp is available.
