Root44 in Stellenbosch offers great retail therapy in the heart of the Cape Winelands!! Good cuisine, delicious drinks, lively tunes and brilliant company – we at ROOT44 know South Africans enjoy nothing more. 

That’s precisely why we’ve created the perfect all-weather setting where you, friends and family can come together rain or shine. 

We’re a tourist facility with a difference: a new stunning building with rock cladding walls, rolling green lawns and plenty of seating (which means rain is never an issue), and surrounded by gorgeous vineyards and trees, we offer funky live entertainment, arts & crafts and home ware shops perfect for leisurely browsing, and an awesome selection of edible and drinkable treats.

A vast range of hand-picked antiques, gorgeous children’s clothing, funky t-shirts, jewellery, home ware, leather goods and various other arts and crafts...

Wine tasting that will delight all! Decadent sweet treats, wood-fired pizza’s, and cuisine from all over the world, healthy salads and sandwiches, spicy curries yummy goodies will satisfy any tummy rumblings during your ramble through our tourist facility!

Our range of ‘take-home’ products include superb hot sauces, spreads, home baked breads, cured and smoked charcuterie products and a selection of roasted nuts.

We planted a range of beautiful shady trees and there is ample parking with car guards on hand, courtesy of ROOT44. 

For the little people we have non-stop entertainment with our play area and slow train. While the kids play you can enjoy a glass of local wine or ice-cold soft drink at one of our vibrant bars. 

Find us opposite the giant strawberry along the R44 between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. If there’s been a spot of rain, just pull on those wellies and head on out!
