Albertinia is a settlement in Hessequa Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The town is situated 50 km west of Mossel Bay, at the foot of the Langeberg Mountains, and is fondly referred to as the home of the Aloe. At the aloe factories at Albertinia, aloe juices are extracted for medicine and high-quality skin-care products. The Aloe factories is located right next to the N2 to purchase products as well as learn more about this magical indigenous plant species. Albertinia was founded in 1900 and named after Johannes Rudolph Albertyn – the first Dutch Reformed minister to serve the community – the town has a rich history that you can find out more about at the Cultural Historical museum. Albertinia offers a wide range of activities and attractions, including golfing, bird watching, game drives, 4x4 routes, angling and aloe product factories. Albertinia has something for everyone, from adrenalin sport to scenic beauty and tranquil surroundings.
