Staying over at the Karoo National Park in Beaufort West

When choosing to overnight at the Karoo National Park the options vary between chalets, cottages and guest cottages in the rest camp, a caravan and camping site, and two cottages “off the the beaten track”. All options offer a unique and tranquil experience for visitors wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Rest Camp

The thatched Cape Dutch-style chalets blend succulently into the base of the Nuweveld Mountains with panoramic views over the Karoo landscape. Neat, spacious and offering all the necessities of a home-away-from-home experience, the chalets provide visitors with all they would need to make for a relaxing holiday. All accommodation is self-catering however breakfast is included in the price of the accommodation and is served daily in the restaurant.

• Eight family units (guest cottages) consisting of two bedrooms, two en-suite bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, give larger families the chance to unwind in style.
• Twenty nine other units range from open-plan spaces with two single beds and a double sleeper couch, to one bedrooms with a double bed and open-plan kitchenette.

All units in the main rest camp come with limited DSTV packages, air-conditioner/heating units and are serviced daily.

Camping

Located just a few minutes' drive outside the main rest camp are twenty-four award-winning camping and caravan sites, which sit amongst a green oasis of grass and trees, a stark contrast to the rugged Karoo environment.  With communal ablutions, kitchen facilities and a laundry, visitors camping and caravanning can do so in complete comfort.

All sites have braai facilities and 220V power points with each site having an allocation for one caravan and one vehicle; or one tent and one vehicle; or one motorized caravan.  Sites can accommodate a maximum of six persons.  This camp has won several awards.
